A Perfect Day....

Oconomowoc

Oconomowoc is known for its beautiful and peaceful recreational lakes. Situated in the heart of Lake Country, the town of Oconomowoc sits on 3 major lakes, Fowler, La Bell and Oconomowoc. The downtown is situated on the south side of Fowler and is just a short walk from the Inn.

And talking a walk around Fowler is a must. Whether you take your stroll in the morning, mid-day or evening, the lake' charm and beauty can't be missed.

The downtown hold true to its historical nature. Many 100 year old buildings and homes still line our streets. there's Tudor, Greek Revival, Queen Anne and Castle architecture to enjoy. The downtown shops, restaurants and pubs are eclectic, casual and fun.

Just outside of town, you'll find some excellent antique shopping, day spas, abundant golfing and more places to eat.

And don't forget top spend some time at the Inn..

Its easy to fill a day in Oconomowoc.. and at the end, you should be relaxed and refreshed.

A few suggestions...
  1. Be one of the first to check-in. Get here at 3:00pm and take time to tour the other rooms at the Inn. Each one is decorated a bit differently.
  2. Get your stuff in your room and head down to the pool (in summer, its heated) for a dip or on the weekend nights (friday and Saturday), relax in the parlor or sunroom with a good book and maybe meet a new friend or find out more about the history of the Inn and town.
  3. If you feel the need for some light shopping , Head downtown and check out Beverly's Design gift and clothes shop or May's garden center and grab a snack at Golosi Italian Ice cream , Welans for coffee and/or Sweetie Pies.
  4. Dinner in Oconomowoc is casual. If its a nice night, you can walk downtown for you evening meal. Spinnakers is casual and our only dining on the lake. If you're up for something a little more unique, the Pub is a neat spot for Irish food and drink. There's often live music too.
  5. You can "late night" in one of several pubs. Splash, our newest (and nicest) martini (and full) Bar.
  6. Next morning, don't miss out on Breakfast. We have a several well loved specialties like Pecan Stuffed French toast, Swedish Cheese Blintz or Rustic Quiche.
  7. Now's a good time to talk that walk around the lake (if you didn't last night)
  8. Set up a Tee-Time at one of the local golf courses or head out to the Antiques shops (we like Fox and the Gathering Place best).
  9. Before you head home, take a lunch at Weinstein's. Nice deli and wine shop a few miles out of town. Mmmm

If you have more time, consider

  • Renting a pontoon boat and heading out on one of the beautiful lakes.
  • Going for a bike ride around Lac La Belle.
  • Visit the town's museum.
  • Kicking back on the Inn's grounds, pool, sunroom or porches. Relaxation is what its all about!
